Joker to be Next Turbo Man?

Are you having trouble finding The Dark Knight Joker action figure? Well so is everyone else. /film reports that the Mattel-produced Joker action figures are selling off the shelves like crazy,

An employee of Times Square’s Toys R Us store claims that there are none left in the warehouse and that fans will be waiting a while if they want one. The $9.99-priced figure is currently selling on eBay for up to $55 each. Although some auctions are ending for around double the purchase price.

It looks like the Joker action figure is following the footsteps of the Cabbage Patch Dolls, Tickle Me Elmo, Furbies, and my personal favorite, Turbo Man. Lets hope Schwarzenegger and Sinbad haven't snatched them all up yet.

The Spirit of Christmas

Lionsgate has decided to give us the gift of early release this Christmas. Variety tells us that Lionsgate will now be moving up the release date for The Watchman movie from Jan. 16 to Dec 25. Looks like we're all in for a great Christmas.

Cyclops Shows Up

Our guys at Superherohype have fallen on some news concerning the X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie. Apparently Australian actor Tim Pocock has been cast as a young Scott Summers in the movie. I'm not to sure how I feel about this. They seem to be bringing in a lot of familiar characters to this movie. I'm getting the feeling that things are getting out of hand and that this will end up being another X-men movie.

And We Were Born

This Just in!!!

Adjust Tracking Knob and Rewind... Press Play will now be joining forces.

That's right! Andy Warhol, Gilbert and George, Ebert and Roeper, and a random Zombie just had twins and named them Derek 8-Track and SX0T.

We have decided to come together and give each other authorship rights to each others blogs. That's double the movie news! This will eventually lead into one single collaborative blog and website. We have been in the process of becoming collaborative artists for quite some time now, this is just one more step to reach that goal.

Iron Man Review

Ok, now that I have given it some time to settle in my system I think i can give an accurate review of my Iron Man experience. First things first, I thought it was great. It was a terrific movie going experience for me. Because I am not an overly avid reader of the Iron Man comics I can't say whether or not Robert Downey Jr. gave an accurate portrayal of Tony Stark/Ironman, but I can say it was a performance well to my liking. He knew when to be serious and he knew when to witty and funny. I would almost equate his performance to the Toby Maguire's in the Spiderman franchise in the sense that both performances create a nice balance of both serious and funny characteristics. This can also be said for the tone of both films. I have read complaints about the movie not having enough action. I found there to be the perfect amount of action. The way the action sequences were dispersed throughout the movie created good pacing.
I was expecting Tony Stark to be a little more of a struggling alcoholic, but after viewing the movie I think it would have been hard to portray him as a likable hero with an alcohol problem. There are just some things that work better on paper than they would on the screen.
The amount of Favreau in the movie was tasteful. Gwyneth Paltrow provided depth. Leslie Bibb was hateable, which was nice because i'd had enough of her on LOST. Terrence Howard had a great performance playing the "buddy" role, and will be great "next time" around as War Machine. Jeff Bridges didn't surpass his role in The Big Lebowski, but still proved to be a great addition to the Iron Man franchise.
I was surprised that they would adopt some of the lore of Iron Man from the Civil War comics. I guess I can't say that it is a direct reference, but Tony Stark revealing himself as Iron Man read a little Civil Warish to me. I found it to be a huge shock. I'm not dissapointed with the decision, I think it will make things interesting for the next movie.
Now, on to the clip after the credits. I don't think I have been that excited since the first time I saw X-Men in the theater. To know that there will be an Avengers movie that pulls together some of the most iconic characters in comic book history is just tremendous for me! Rock on Samuel L. Jackson!
Also, how did I not catch that Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division stood for S.H.I.E.L.D. ??? I mean I know it was the first time they had the acronym stand for that, but still, I should have caught on. Boy do I feel sheepish.

Smallville soon to be a Safer Community?

Sad news for Smallville fans. Smallville producers and Michael Rosenbaum have announced that he will not be returning for season 8. Does this mean Smallville and Metropolis no longer have to worry about villainous impending doom brought on by a single person? Of course not! Producers say that we can look forward to Doomsday and a new female antagonist to give Clark some trouble. I will greatly miss Rosenbaum, but I am excited to hear about the new villains. I am curious to see how the show will bring Doomsday into Clark's earlier stages as a hero. Doomsday is best known for bringing Superman to his demise. Will Smallville give us the complete story of Superman from beginning to end?

Read more on Rosenbaum's departure, parting words, and what's up next for Smallville at Superherohype.com.

The Eisner Estate

New Incredible Hulk Trailer

They just continue to make me think the new Leterrier Hulk is going to be better than Lee's Hulk.
I (possibly alone) will always love the Ang Lee Hulk but you have to hand it to Louis Leterrier and his efforts to relaunch the franchise.
Take a look at the new trailer here

Routh Talks Steel

I grew up thinking Superman was pretty cool, then I got a little bit older and came to think that Superman sucked. My world and thoughts on Superman changed when I saw Superman Returns. I found it to be one of the best moviegoing experiences of my life. I remember sitting, staring at the theater screen in complete awe. In saying that you can only imagine my excitement when I read a recent interview with Brandon Routh, from comingsoon.net about the upcoming Man of Steel movie, which he stars. According to Routh he is hopes that the movie will contain more Clark Kent and the humor he bring along to the story. I'm not sure how I feel about Clark Kent being any more funny than he already is. I think that as of now they have a pretty good balance between humor and seriousness. We can expect a new villain and for Superman to throw some punches at that villain. Routh also expressed that he hopes the new movie will strengthen the friend relationship between Louis and Clark, making them "buddies" again. Routh didnt have much to say on a Justice League project but he is now more accepting to the idea of a Batman and Superman collaboration in a single movie so long as they are teaming up and not working against eachother.
We can also expect Routh in an upcoming movie called Dead of Night, where he will play Dylan Dog, a nightmare investigator who gets caught up in dealings with zombies, werewolves, and Vampires.

Man of Steel should start filming early next year.

Mighty Morphin' Batman Ranger

Take a look at the differences between the Batsuit in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. One of the great things about this new Batman franchise is that they are taking the material as serious as possible. I'm starting to get the feeling they they might be heading in the wrong direction when it comes to the Batsuit. I guess its possible that every portion of the design in the new suit serves a function as armor (minus the bat symbol and ears of course). If they dont function as armor, im pretty sure Bruce Wayne isn't to concerend with how hardcore the grooved designs found in his cheast plate and sholderpads look. I guess its a minor detail to have negative comments about. After all the Green Goblin didnt seem to bother me much, yet the way in which the Spiderman movies are being approached is quite different than the current Batman franchise. Not even sure this needed to be posted... Just something i've been thing alot about lately.

OUCH!

Could we get a little more hurt in the movie business?

This is from imdb news.

James Bond Stuntman Seriously Injured After Crash
A stuntman working on the new James Bond movie Quantum Of Solace has been left with serious head injuries, after yet another onset car accident. Aris Comninos was driving the Alfa Romeo on a small and windy road near Lake Garda in northern Italy, when he lost control of the vehicle and smashed into a wall. Comninos was flown by helicopter to a hospital in Verona, where he has undergone surgery for his injuries. Another stuntman sustained minor injuries after the incident earlier this week. A spokesperson for the town of Limone sul Garda, where the 007 cast and crew have been shooting for the past fortnight, says the accident occurred during a car chase between Bond's Aston Martin and a truck. None of the cast members, nor director Marc Forster, were present at the time of the crash. Filming for the latest spy thriller, starring Daniel Craig as 007, has hit a number of setbacks. Just last Saturday, a limited edition Aston Martin sports car had to be fished out of Lake Garda after it skidded off a narrow road in torrential rain and plunged into the water. Producers were also criticized by the Bolivian government for allegedly "stereotyping" its people when they filmed scenes there, while filming in Chile was briefly halted when the town's mayor objected to the crew's presence.

7 Hurt in G.I. Joe Crash in Prague

Seven people were injured Saturday in a collision between a bus and several cars during the filming of G.I. Joe in the center of Prague, reports the AFP.

Video seen on the private Nova television channel showed the bus, and then other vehicles, being hit by an all-wheel-drive vehicle that appeared to have braking problems.

"It happened in a closed area that was rented out to the filmmakers for the weekend," said Prague police spokeswoman Eva Brozova.

Jirina Ernestova, spokeswoman for the emergency services, said the injured were treated in hospitals in the Czech capital.

"According to my information, there were only slight injuries," said David Minowski from the local production house Stilling Films.

You can view photos of the accident here and here.

G.I. Joe is scheduled for an August 7, 2009 release.

Cloverfield - Monsters + Zombies = Quarantine

Do you love handy-cam movies?
Is The Blair Witch Project you favorite movie?
Did you find watching Cloverfield to be the most exhilarating experience of your life?
Are you going to cry tears of joy when you watch Diary of the Dead?

If you answered yes to these questions then you will love Quarantine!

So this is what I get from the trailer alone. No other research involved here.
It looks like the U.S. Government seals off an apartment complex in L.A. and sends in an armed team of soldiers to investigate the apartment, they find a camera and the movie is the footage found on that camera. The footage appears to be some firemen and an idiot reporter lady heading to the apartment to interview some crazy lady. They go inside and the cazy lady starts eating everyone. Pretty rockin' if you ask me. It just goes to show that being a reporter who reports on zombies is not a good idea. Stick to killing them... with baseball bats... and shovels... or take a lesson from Shaun and use a cricket bat.

Check out the trailer here and check out the movie October 17th

Bloggin'

Welp, I figure its the thing to do now.

I'll mostly be talking about movies.
Not much will be spoken on art films and documentaries.

I will also speak of some television shows that are to my liking.
Office, Lost, Arrested Development, Roseanne, Seinfeld,The Riches, and others will appear.

I may go into topics concerning action figures.
I collect Beast (X-Men) action figures.
